It’s been awhile since I’ve added to this blog, but I am honored to be blowing the dust off so we can officially launch another round of Pies for Purpose (albeit another bittersweet year)!
As many of you know (or if this is your first time here, hi!), in 2020 I wanted to do something rooted in giving back for my birthday, and ultimately the concept of Pies for Purpose was born. The idea was simple — people made a minimum donation to a non-profit they loved, and in turn they were able to order a homemade pie. From there a dear group of friends and myself spent an entire day baking the pies. It was incredible and impactful.
So we did it again in 2022. And again in 2024.
And here we are again launching our fourth Pies for Purpose effort. It’s become the sweetest every-other-year tradition.
This year we are again baking to support the incredible work of Breast Cancer Research Foundation. I officially passed the 5 year mark of my own diagnosis, but the impact of breast cancer has continued to impact my life and so many I love deeply. While I am deeply grateful to be here doing this again, my heart aches for the continued loss breast cancer has brought into my life and the lives of many I love dearly.
Even if you do not want a pie I hope you’ll consider hopping over to this page and reading our why behind this year’s bake day (to be clear, there are many whys).
If you are here because you loved the pie you received in recent years, thanks for supporting this effort again! For those of you who are new, thanks for being here to support! These pies go fast, so please do not wait to donate + sign up for a pie. Make sure there are still pies available before you donate, because when the pie sign up slots are full they are full (though yes, of course, you can continue to donate after pie slots are filled).

Here’s all the things you need to know if you snag a pie:
When is bake day? Friday, November 20th
What types of pie are available? Apple, pumpkin and pecan!
How many of each kind will be available? There will be 20 pies, BUT you get to pick your type — apple, pumpkin or pecan (no limits per type). So you’ll be telling us how many of each we are baking.
How will I get my pie after bake day? We will again have a single pick up site. You will pick up your pie between 8:30-10am on Saturday, November 21st* at LvlUp Coffee in Normal (107 Mall Drive).
*if you absolutely cannot pick up your pie that morning please leave a comment with your order so we can try to make an accommodation
